Thanks for stopping by to visit my site. If you’re interested to give hiking a try, but feel overwhelmed by all the information out there, you’ve come to the right place.

Unlike a lot of hikers with decades of experience, I’ve been hiking and walking trails for a few years but I’ve learned a lot along the way. I want to show you how easy it is to get out there and start to explore some challenging hikes or easy-on-the-knees trails.

ReadyGoHike.com was launched in 2020 by Kristen M. and now it’s my turn to continue and grow ReadyGoHike into the premier hiking and outdoor adventure site. As I head out on new trails and adventures, I’ll share my thoughts and opinions on the gear I use, the trails traversed and points of interest along the way.

It doesn’t matter how old you are (like me!) what kind of shape you’re in, or even how much experience you have. All that matters is that you have an open mind and you’re willing to try something new. If you have those two things, you’re ready to start hiking.

So where should you begin?

I recommend you start by learning about the right type of hiking gear you need so you can have a comfortable and enjoyable hike. While you don’t need to run out and buy all of the latest name brand gadgets and gear, you can’t exactly hit the trail in your favorite pair of flip-flops and jeans.

Once you know what type of gear you should get, be sure to check out the important hiking tips you need to know. Whether you’re trying to figure out how to hike with young kids, your furry four-legged friend or you’re wondering what to do if you see a wild animal on the trail, this category will help answer all of your questions.
